Melissa is a friend of Donna's. She and Donna both work in the radio station together. She makes her first appearance in Hyde Gets the Girl, shown to have recently moved to Point Place from Chicago.

She and Hyde seem to have a small love interest at first. Or at the very least lustful thoughts for eachother. Melissa, like Donna, is a feminist and doesn't allow vague male flattery to withstand her own value. For example, when Hyde was going to get a drink for himself, she assertively twisted his words around as to for him to get a drink for her. Also, when Hyde attempts to ask her out sometime she states that she already has plans for "sometime". This last example, shows how she is unwilling to put up with games and flaky attitudes. She is demanding respect.
